Bait Them With a Juicy Title - I cannot stress the importance of choosing a juicy title. The title is the first thing that search engines take into account when ranking your article and it most certainly is the first thing that attracts the reader. I like to be specific and us a number in my title. For example, 5 Signs Indicating 2012 Could Be the End, or 3 Mouth Watering Meatloaf Recipes Ready in An Hour. Another important consideration is to use popular "Key Words" in your title. A great FREE tool for helping you choose Title Words is found at Google Adwords.
Hook Them With a Sharp Summary - Writing a sharp summary is important because it is make or break of whether the reader will read the article or just pass by. You baited them with a juicy title and now you want them to move on to the article and the way to do that is through witty, informative summary. In the summary you want to write a brief description of what your article is about including a couple of catchy phrases. Don't forget to capitalize a few key words. Speaking of Key Words, use them in your summary, the search engines pick up Key Words in the summary after the Title.
Reel Them In With Original Content - This one is EXTREMELY important as far as Page Ranking is concerned. All the major search engines LOVE original well written material. The opposite holds true for material that has been duplicated and published in multiple markets. If you want to submit the same article to multiple markets, rewrite some of the content to make it original. You will NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT, rank high with readers or search engines if you submit the same exact article all over the place.
