An Overview of the BPO Industry

BPO is the contracting of operations and responsibilities of very specific business functions to a third-party service provider. Usually located in third world nations with still developing economies, to take advantage of favorable monetary exchange rates, this industry has attracted substantial financial investment, and provided impressive employment growth in these countries. Since it is dependent on information technology, it is also referred to as Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES).

This outsourcing process is beneficial to both the outsourcing company and the service provider. In this relationship, the provider enables the outsourcer to reduce operating costs, increase quality in non-core areas of business, save effort, and increase productivity.

BPO services are generally categorized into horizontal or vertical services. A horizontal BPO involves function-centric outsourcing: the vendor specializes in carrying out particular functions across different industry domains. Examples of horizontal BPO are procurement, payroll processing, human resources, facilities management, and similar functions. On the other hand, a vertical BPO focuses on providing various functional services in a limited number of industry domains: health care, financial services, manufacturing, and retail, are representative instances.

Following are the major components of the BPO industry:
(1) Contact center – inbound and outbound services for sales, technical support, directory, etc
(2) Software development – systems analysis, design, customization, etc.
(3) Animation/Creative services – giving illusion of movement to cinematographic drawings or models thru 2D, 3D, etc.
(4) Data transcription – transcription services for interpreting oral dictation of health and legal professionals, etc.
(5) Back office processing – services related to finance and accounting, and human resources administration, etc.
(6) Engineering design – includes design for civil works, buildings, electronics, etc.

Pros & Cons of outsourcing to third party vendors:
Advantages
• Focus on business core only.
• Benefit from best-of-breed solutions.
• Better quality at lower costs.
• Better process maturity, resource flexibility and economies of scale.
• Flexibility in deploying new technology.
Disadvantages
• Burden of excess capacity or challenge of insufficient capacity.
• High personnel attrition.
• Tight business margins.
• Not enough local financial muscle to sustain tight payback periods.
• Unforeseen developments

Pros & Cons of outsourcing inside host or origin country:
Advantages
• Securing data is less complicated.
• Capture margins that would otherwise go overseas
• Decision making authority contained within the organization.
• Tighter management control
Disadvantages
• Expensive specialist skill in host countries.
• Compliance and legal restrictions.
• Unavailability of skilled manpower due to market stagnation.
• Requires considerable effort in terms of management's time and attention to establish

Contracting a third party service provider allows the outsourcing company absolute flexibility of choice in singular or multiple relationships, up or down scaling, or terminating the same on favorable grounds.

It is estimated that every dollar of U.S. labor cost assigned overseas, generates $1.12-$1.14 in additional value for the American economy by making goods and services cheaper, and companies more competitive. Keeping the service at home incurs high investment with 5 to 10 time's longer payback period; therefore keeping them overseas is the more financially sound alternative.

In return, the countries that receive the outsourcing services generally experience impressive financial growth and higher standard of living for those directly involved. It is definitely a WIN/WIN situation all around.

Publishing your Poetry Online

As many writers know, it is a challenge to find people to critique their work and offer suggestions on improvement. With all of the big poetry and story publishing websites on the web, it is easy for a single poem to get lost in a sea of millions. Tips for Using Humor in Motivational Speeches

Humor is a great icebreaker in speeches. It will connect you to your audience like nothing else - just so long as it is relevant to the topic in hand. But before you use any humor, be sure it really is funny. Firstly it should make you laugh, and then it should make your friends laugh. Only then can you use it in your motivational speech.

Relevance means it should have something to do with your subject matter. It must be used to enhance your topic in some way. If it can also be personal, springing from your own experience in the subject, then so much the better. Things that you once thought embarrassing can be spoken about with light-hearted humor once they have been relegated to the past.

It is poking fun at yourself that makes a connection with the audience. They laugh, but at the same time they sympathize because they know just how you felt at the time. Chances are they experienced the same thing, and so you are helping them to cope with it in their own lives when you can laugh at it in yours.

Be sure your humor is appropriate to your audience. Some people may be offended rather than amused by jokes that are racist or otherwise in bad taste. Choosing clean humor will ensure that it is not offensive to a mixed audience.

Humor and jokes should be kept short and to the point. While you know the back-story, it should not come out in your joke. If you waffle on, your audience will fall asleep and you won't be asked to speak again. For instance the story may take place in a train. There's no need to explain where the train was going or why you were on it. Just tell what happened when you were in that situation.

Jokes and humor can be incorporated into visual aids such as the leaflets you hand out or the overheads you use. It can be a comic strip or video, but whatever it is, using the right amount of humor will certainly enhance your speech and make sure your audience remains interested.

Humor can also help you to feel at ease with the rest of your speech. If you can appear human - even when you bomb out - and poke a little fun at yourself, you can often save the situation. Don't use jokes that are so old that everyone knows them. To create something new can be as simple as a wry observation about the building. If it's really hot you could say something like, "It's so cold in here, can someone turn up the heaters?"

Tips for Writing Comedic Articles and Essays

If you just love writing comedic articles and essays, go ahead. People love reading comedy. You might find your life full of humor and even make money out of writing about it. This often happens when a person is put into a different environment, for instance many humorous articles have been written from the point of view of a city person going to live in the Wild West - or vice versa. This is actually situational comedy as it arises from being in a different situation.

Or maybe you'd rather make humorous comment about the political situation such as we see in satire, or the many other types of comedy that abound. Whichever type you choose, stick to it for the same piece of writing. If you start off with a family comedy and the switch to slapstick or satire, your readers will be confused and end up leaving you.

Make your type of comedy appropriate to your proposed audience. If you were writing something humorous for children, satire or black humor would not be appropriate. If your audience were rocket scientists or inventors, family or toilet humor would not be appreciated. Writing for radio will not need lots of humorous activity, but for TV it will.

Choosing what makes you laugh will ensure that you enjoy what you are doing and this will show in your writing. Conflict is needed for most good writing and it is needed for comedy as well. Conflict can come from a person against the environment, a person who cannot achieve his goals, i.e. against himself, or a person against another person. The humor comes as the person tries his best to achieve his goal, or maybe he decides to ignore it - whatever it is.

Exaggeration is another means of including comedy into your article. While it may not always be possible to exaggerate the environment, it is your perception of the problem that can be exaggerated for comic effect. However, just be careful not to go overboard and become silly.

Remember the rule of three. For some reason things that happen in threes seem funnier than if they happen just once. If you can work this into your humorous article it is a form of exaggeration that will make things seem even funnier. Watch funny movies for the rule of three and you'll see a person getting bumped three times, doing something three times - and failing on the third, and so on.

Know when to draw things out and when to quit. A sense of timing is crucial to most comedy. When something is said is often just as important as what is said.

The Book Is Done, Now What To Call It? - 4 Title Tips Read more: http://www.articlesbase.com/writing-articles/the-book-is-done-now-what-to-call-it-4-title-tips-3328327.html#ixzz10SjobGDV Under Creative Commons License: Attribution

Arguably your book's title is the most important phrase you will ever write for that book. It, along with the cover art, is the first thing your reader sees from your book. It is responsible for grabbing your reader's attention and forcing him or her to read enough of your book to be willing to buy it. If your title doesn't cut it neither will your book's sales.
And without sales and readers there is little, if any, purpose to having written your book!
You cannot afford to have a weak or ineffective title.
In this article I am going to share four tips for writing titles that will grab your reader's attention and make them want to read your book.
1. Always use two titles.
You should always use a two-part title -- the title and the sub-title. Why? Because the title gives you enough room to grab the potential reader's interest but not enough to keep it. The sub-title gives you the room to explain why they need to read the book. Maybe you can't close the sale but you can move it along. Let's say, you picked up two books... one called "The Art of The Title" and another called "The Art of The Title: How To Grab Your Reader's Interest And Force Them To Buy!" Which one would you check out first? Which one would you more likely buy?
2. Don't get fancy or funny.
Alright maybe I should really say don't let your sense of humor overrule your title. Fancy and funny can help to grab a potential reader's interest. But don't allow your sense of humor to take away from the main purpose of the title -- which is to sell your book. After all, which do you think will sell more? A book titled "Knock 'em Dead: Titles to Make Your Reader Laugh". Or a book titled, "The Art of The Title: How To Grab Your Reader's Interest And Force Them To Buy!". On the other hand a book entitled "Knock 'em Dead: Titles That SELL With Humor" might just sell better than either of the previous two.
3. Think like a copywriter.
So what's the difference between a writer and a copywriter? Simply put a copywriter is always thinking about the sale. His or her focus is on problems, pain, solutions and benefits. When writing your title that's what you need to focus on too. Why would your reader want to read the book? You should have the answer already. So put it in your title. "Knock 'em Dead: Writing A Title That Sells More Books" will attract more readers than a title that doesn't include the problem "I need to sell more books".
4. Include your keywords.
It doesn't matter if you are selling an eBook or a print-on-demand book or a traditional book. The majority of your sales are going to be placed through the internet. There is a reason that Amazon has come from nowhere to become the major bookseller in the world. Even the traditional booksellers are selling through the internet. And there is one certain truth in internet sales -- if they don't find you on the search engines they aren't going to find you at all. And the search engines all work by keywords. So you need to have the keywords your customers use for searching in your title.

SEO Copywriting: Sell Your Words

Well written website content can fetch the preferred results by pursuing your target audiences. It's bizarre to monitor that many websites, which are enriched by enticing designs, lag behind - because they shoddily fail to proffer quality content. Innumerable researches have been done to describe the prominence of web content; still many people do not go for it. This is the most noticeable reason behind the abrupt desertion of many websites because their creators make the common mistake - as they disregard the significance of content. When you are selling something via your website or offering some services, seo content writing works as your salesman, where well written words communicate the message accurately and straightforwardly and end up convincing your target audiences.

If good designing can generate the desired interest and help in retaining the users, seo copywriting services can do the real task by influencing them. It's not an easy task because you need to follow certain tricks to make your content piece a saleable copy, whereas you have to fit the right keywords that would enable your website to appear in the first few pages of search engine results. Amidst all this, a web copywriter comes as someone who can take your business in the right direction.

There are a few basic points that you should remember, prior to write the web content.

It is a common delusion among people that web content writing is all about inserting the keywords in the right places, but this is just not enough. Yes, you cannot deny the importance of keyword stuffing, but an expert copywriter can blend them well with creative and fresh content - in a very subtle manner. On the other hand, you have to define your target audiences well. By doing a simple online research on any popular product, you can find that some websites appear like puzzles, as they are congested by too many things. Define your priorities, expertise and target audiences first of all to avoid any uncertainty in this process, if you fail on this front - things would only get worse. To get the right web site content writing, you can do an online research.

Some Books Don't Work! How to Write a Book that Grows Your Business Read more: http://www.articlesbase.com/non-fiction-articles/some-books-dont-work-how-to-write-a-book-that-grows-your-business-3332378.html#ixzz10Siwier6 Under Creative Commons License: Attribution

You've probably heard all this before: writing a book is one of the most powerful marketing tools available to coaches, consultants, speakers, and professionals. It can establish or enhance your brand and unique positioning. It can attract a steady stream of those ideal high-paying clients we all love. And it can elevate everything you're already doing to a higher level of success.
But not all books work as well as they could. Why? Because everyone has a book and most of them aren't very good. There—I said it. If you really want your book to grow your business, then it has to be better, more engaging, and more authentic than the other titles. It has to be an extension of you and your business that represents your expertise in the marketplace and pulls ideal clients right to you. Otherwise it's just another book.
How can you ensure your book works? Consider the following tips.
1. Write Your Book Well
You know me—I'm a writer and I don't like poorly written books. Although having the word "author" in your bio always adds a certain amount of expertise, mediocre books don't work as well as great ones do. They don't attract ideal prospects; they don't communicate the author's expertise; they don't get passed around and talked about; and they don't get much media attention.
If you really want your book to work for your business, then it has to be good. And I don't mean the sentences have to be grammatically correct—they do, but that's a given. Anyone can do that. Your book has to be written in a way that appeals to your audience, keeps them engaged, and makes them want more from you. Books have more longevity than a blog post or an e-zine article. In those mediums you can get away with the "good is good enough" approach. But your book is a big investment that should work for you for years. You can't afford regrets!
2. Design Your Content to Attract Ideal Clients and Prospects
A book is a powerful way to attract clients and prospects to your business. It can establish you as THE expert on a particular topic, introduce you and the solutions you provide to readers who may have never found you any other way, and allow you to reach audiences in numbers limited only by the number of books you can print.
But simply writing any book won't necessarily bring the right people and clients to you. You have to know who you want to attract, and then design your book—from the title, to the content, to the back cover copy—to appeal directly to those people. And your authentic voice has to shine through, because that's the only way to attract the ideal, high-paying clients and opportunities to your business.
3. Leverage Your Book
Once your BEST book is written and published, it's time to make it work. You have to get it out there and into as many ideal readers' hands as possible with launch events, speaking engagements, virtual book tours, media releases, interviews, and anything else you can do to spread the word. The great thing about a book is that, when it's new, it can be inherently newsworthy, which means a lot of attention for you and your business as well.
Mention your book at every opportunity, work the concepts into your introductory level talks, design your marketing messages around it, and share your book with prospects and leads. If you've designed your book to fit strategically within your business, you can start to see results almost immediately, with new people signing up for your coaching programs and buying your higher-priced products and packages.
Your Business-Building Book
Nothing says "expert" like a book, and these days, anyone can pull together enough content to fill a hundred pages. But a well-written book designed to strategically attract ideal clients to your business allows more than just the ability to add the word "author" to your bio. You can send a great book into the world confidently knowing it will represent you, position you, brand you, and grow your business.

A Promise to Persevere by Michael Miller - Book Review Read more: http://www.articlesbase.com/writing-articles/a-promise-to-persevere-by-michael-miller-book-review-3293641.html#ixzz0zyRP7AAy Under Creative Commons License: Attribution

Michael Miller was born into poverty, and stayed there-rebellious, uneducated, and nearly hopeless for the first twenty-five years of his life. Raised in the unforgiving streets of Baltimore, he became a father at 14, was a "troubled youth" and dropped out of high school at 16, ill equipped to effectively participate in his own life. Not until faced with death was Miller able to alter his existence and overcome his obstacles through the power of education.
In a matter of five years, he obtained his GED, A.A. degree, and a B.A. degree from Morehouse College and set a national record as the first person ever to do so. Through the benevolence of Oprah Winfrey, he was recognized for his efforts and received funding to continue his education as a "Beating the Odds Scholar." He later received his Master Degree and is currently a successful Ph.D. candidate.
Having reclaimed the lives of his children and assumed the honorable role of single parent, Miller now reflects on his past life with pride. He understands that his repeated failures and perpetual struggles slowed his race to the finish line, but that did not prevent him from getting there. In this moving autobiography of a once hopeless, poor, black boy, one feels the warmth of hope and perseverance; one is taught that finishing the race is all that matters-even if it takes twenty-five years.
This non-fiction story reads like the pages of a family photo album. It is frothed with marital, parent/child and family conflicts. Michael Miller paints vivid pictorial accounts of his long-held childhood secrets and revelations including romances, overcoming tremendous obstacles, death and suicide.

Writers Write - And Publish

Writers write. Right? We've heard it a bunch of times. What does it mean? Does it mean you just write and write and write and hope somebody reads it? Does it mean that, no matter what, you keep on writing? Really. What the heck does it mean? What if nobody seems to be reading what you write and you are like Emily Dickinson, writing poem after poem and at the end of life having fewer than a dozen published? This, the writer's equivalent to the legacy of our dear painter Van Gogh. Could this possibly be what it means to write? If so, the birds can inherit my writing. Any writing I might do would be for the birds.
Writers don't just write. Writers get published. Artists get exposed and musicians get heard. Sorry, but just because I write does not mean I'm a writer. Okay, technically, yes it does mean that. But if that's all it means... Who is going to give me any attention? Who is going to give a rat's - hmmm. The topic is infuriating and so I revert to the tendency of cussing.
But wait! Does a writer just get published? Does that mean I'm a writer? No, of course not. One could say, I WAS a writer, back then. Now I'm resting on my laurels, and they do feel good. What that boy needs is a kick in the - hmmm. Again I feel like cussing. The rump, the butt, that which we writers so often situate against the seat of a chair when hard at work. Internet Marketers also situate the butt in a chair. Tom Antion - and others, I suppose, but he might well have coined the term - calls them "butt warriors". Are you a butt warrior?
This is what I think a butt warrior is: Someone who, for whatever reason, wants to sit his butt down and do one thing well, with butt affixed to chair, and get paid well and have a fun time doing it. (Alright, maybe you don't get paid...well, anyway.) A software programmer is not a butt warrior. That work is too hard, and possibly BORING. No. A butt warrior has to be excited about what he's doing while his butt is affixed to the seat of his (hopefully) comfy chair.
I am a writer. And so far I have produced how many words for this article or whatever it is? 395 words. Wow! Not that many. Yet. But enough. Come on. I was just sitting on my butt enjoying myself, yacking away as I like to do. It doesn't get any better than this. (Who owns that phrase? I don't want to name the beer manufacturer that made that phrase famous. Let them pay me. Yeah. Right.)

Web Copy: Influence Your Target Market

What is the benefit to your business of hiring a copywriter?
Have you ever thought about it?
Let's back up. What is a copywriter?
Most people think anyone can write copy, when in reality a copywriter is a highly skilled wordsmith who knows how to speak to your target market and influence them to buy. They highlight the pros of your company and minimize the cons. Simply put, a copywriter influences prospect behavior through the written word.
So what? You might ask. Anyone can slap words onto a web page and convince people to buy.
Not so fast.
To sell your product, you need copy that resonates with your target audience and motivates them to take action. A good writer knows the benefits of your product and conveys them to your prospects through several key avenues.
Higher search results rankings
Copywriters research and determine the keywords and phrases your prospects use to search for solutions to their problems. You provide the solution they need, so a copywriter will weave these words throughout the copy and add them to the internal meta data of your website.
When your prospects go to Google and search for the solution to their problem, they'll find you.
Effective brand messaging
To make an informed decision to buy, your prospects need to understand what you do and how you do it. Your company needs a single, clear brand message. A good writer knows this and can create a cohesive brand message that is unambiguous and speaks loudly to your target audience.
Whether you have only a website, or you use brochures, white papers, press releases, and articles, by using a copywriter your brand message stays uniform and consistent throughout your marketing materials.
Compelling company and product story
Your prospect is at your website and understands what you do and how you do it. Great. Now he or she needs to make the decision to buy. Your copywriter carefully and skillfully outlines the benefits of buying from you and drives your prospect to take action and contact you, either to buy or for more information.
It's all about your prospects, and they don't care about you or the fact that you've been in business for 59 years. They want to know what they receive—what's in it for them. Your copywriter ensures that they see exactly how their problem is solved and how it will make their lives better.
Your prospect buys and is now your client, thanks to your copywriter.
When you have a copywriter working with you on every aspect of your marketing strategy, you can't help but generate more business and sales. He or she is a vital part of your team and essential to your success. Find a good copywriter, and you'll never have to worry about sales again.

Identifying Your Target Customers for Better Profit

Many people have huge budget for advertising and promotion to build their business. They believe that the advertisement spend will give them sales revenues. This is not true at all. You can build your markets and customer base if you have a solid marketing and sales plan, work from the grass root level, good product and persistence will take you where you wish to go.
The first basic criteria would be to identify the potential customer base and profile them. The niche segment has to be identified and characteristics and buyer behavior understood to be able to move forward. If you are selling baby cereals obviously teenagers would not be your customers but parents would be the target customers.
Targeting and identified the customer, plotting data on the size of the customer base, understanding their profiles, noting their habits and lifestyle coupled with their spend and income are all necessary to be able to target the niche customer segment. If you are promoting fashion accessories in your store, you would be interested in targeting only a certain group based on age, income and style that would be interested in your products. This helps you focus and reach out to them alone.
Depending upon your business and product, the customer profiling would have to be carried out in minute detailing to help you isolate the probably target customer base from others. For example if you are planning to stock only party wear of certain size, then you would obviously have to profile only those women who fit into the size, of the right age, those who are likely to socialize and go partying, those who can afford to buy the dresses etc and leave out the others of the same age but who may not be socializing at all.
What ever be your business, whether you are servicing only local market or targeting national and international markets, promoting your product to the right audience and knowing who and where these right audience are situated is critical to your marketing plan.
Quite often we make mistake of spending the money on advertisements in places where it is not necessary and does not target the specific audience. We could be selling a baby product in a men's style magazine that is of no use. It is a waste of money. Rather advertising sports wear in men's style magazine would be the right target segment for the product.
